After a stellar performance, Three lions of England crashed out of the 2022 FIFA world cup in Qatar, following a 1-2 loss to defending champions France.
Truth Live News reports that the blockbuster quarterfinal match saw both sides adjusting to the limelight in the first quarter before France found the lead after 17 minutes as  Aurelie  Tchouamani broke the deadlock with a well-struck effort from 25 yards that went past Jordan Pickford of England, even though the Three Lions were aggrieved that there was a foul on Bukayo Saka before that goal.
England continued to pile pressure on France and were clearly keen to start the second period off as they did in the first half, but Garry Southgate’s men came were back in the game after France scorer  Tchouamani tripped over Saka in the box and a penalty kick awarded to the English side that was converted by Harry Kane in the 54th minutes against his  Goalkeeper  Hugo Lloris at Tottenham.
However, the Les Blues gradually came out of the pressure of England in the second half as their Efforts paid off when France’s leading scorer Olivier Giroud added to his tally in the 74th minute heading in a cross past a frantic Pickford for the second and winning goal of the tie.
The introduction of Chelsea star Mason Mount added more pressure on France, the cup holders defensive determination matched  their tenacity as they  managed to escape,  and reach their second straight semifinal at the Mundial
The Three Lions did improve after going behind but Hugo Lloris’s form thwarted the Harry Kane-led attack on the night the Tottenham captain had the chance to keep England’s hopes alive for a second time but threw away a penalty in the final minutes to condemn his country to another painful quarter-final exit.
France may have escaped England but they have an uphill task ahead in their semifinal clash against Morocco, an underdog prior to the world cup who are now seen as possible winners of the tournament giving their impressive performance thus far, Didier Deschamps boys must be careful against the Africans if they hope to reach their second straight finals at the world cup.
For England, the fairy tale has ended again, though with some positives. But for the Three Lions, there is always gonna another time for the team which is full of hopes and a brighter future, with the likes of Jude Gerlingham, Mason Mount, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka, James Rease, and other younger generation players who are capable of holding their own against any team in the world on a very good day.
