Barrister Aloy Ejimakor, the lawyer to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu has asked president Muhammadu Buhari to release Kanu who has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since June 2021, to prove that his apology to Nigerians is genuine.
Recall, Buhari, the out going president, who is to hand over on May 29 to the president-elect, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Friday, asked Nigerians that feels hurt by his actions or policies to forgive him because we are all human.
“We are all humans, if I have hurt some people along the line of my service to the country, I ask that they pardon me”.
Reacting to the apology, Ejimakor on his Twitter handle, On Saturday, said, “Dear @MBuhari: Your policy on self determination led to extrajudicial killings, detentions, torture & an infamous extraordinary rendition.
“Prove that your apology is genuine by freeing Mazi Nnamdi Kanu and all detained on account of self-determination.”
