Gov. Of C’River Offers Instant Employment To Ex-Corps Member

Because she honours her father’s sacrifices to give her higher education, the Cross River Governor, Sen Bassey Edet Otu, has offered Miss Arit Abam, an automatic employment in the state civil service.

Gov. Otu announced the instant employment when he hosted her in his office in Calabar.

He charged youths in Cross River State and beyond to emulate such act and described it as “worthy of reward.”

Also, the Governor offered her the freedom to choose any ministry, department or agency to work with in the state.

The Governor’s Chief Press Secretary Comrade Nsa Gill, shared the news on social media on Friday April 12, 2024.

Gill further explained that Miss Abam, an ex- corps member recently returned to her father’s house in their village.

Upon arrival, she took a video of herself marching towards her father in a thatch house; with a military-style salute.

Moreso, she commended her father’s sacrifices and handed over both her NYSC jacket and Face-cap to him.

Afterward, she posted the video on social media, with a touching caption of gratitude.

In addition, she charged the yout not to be ashamed of their humble backgrounds.

Moreover, Miss Abam is graduate of Mass Communication from Temple Gate Polytechnic, Aba, Abia State.

Undoubtedly, the video posted went viral and eventually attracted many people’s attention including the Governor of Akwa Ibom State Pastor Umo Bassey Eno.

As a result, Gov. Eno sent a delegation to Ugep, Yakurr LGA of Cross River State Central Senatorial District for some background check.

Upon the team’s verification of the story, Comrade Gill said that Pastor Eno pledged to build a three-bedroom flat for Mr Abam and family as recognition of his sacrifices.

Meanwhile, Governor Bassey Edet Otu, has lauded Governor Umo Eno’s gesture towards Arit Abam.

He noted that his gesture confirms the bond between the two sister states.

Also, Gov. Otu has mandated the Secretary to the Cross River State Government, Prof. Owan Enoh and the Commissioner for Social Welfare and Community Development, Bishop Margaret Ene-Ita to reach out to the Ex-corps member.

Accordingly, Arit Abam has commended the Governor for his magnanimity.

She described the offer as an encouragement toward maintaining cultural standards and values.

She also acknowledged God for earning goodwill through a simple act of gratitude.
