The late Nestor Binabo, former governor of Bayelsa state, has passed away. The news of his death was announced by his son, Mr. Binabo Momos. He passed away on Thursday in Abuja after a prolonged battle with an undisclosed illness.
Nestor Binabo had a notable political career, serving as the acting Governor of Bayelsa state from January 2012. He assumed the role following the removal of Timipre Sylva by the Supreme Court. Prior to that, he held positions as the Speaker and Deputy Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
Before his passing, Binabo was an active member of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). His contributions and involvement within the political sphere were significant.
Nestor K. Binabo, who was also a former teacher, will be remembered for his brief tenure as acting Governor in 2012 and his role in Bayelsa state politics.
