In a joint operation, the Federal Capital Territory Police anti-kidnapping squad, working in collaboration with troops of the Nigerian Army, has successfully rescued the remaining five out of six Al-Kadriyah’s daughters who were abducted from the Bwari area of Abuja in early January.

Recall that the sisters were abducted alongside their dad and some residents of the community.

However, their father was immediately released purportedly to sort out the ransom.

The kidnappers had subsequently handed the family a deadline for the payment of ransom.

Last week, news emerged that Nabeeha, one of the sisters, was killed by the abductors.

After killing the victim, the bandits reportedly raised the ransom from N60 million to N100 million, while threatening to kill the remaining sisters.

However, the police on Sunday, January 21, confirmed that all the victims, were rescued from the Kajuru forest in Kaduna State around 11:30 pm on Saturday, January 20, 2024, and had since been reunited with their families.

Additionally, four members of lawyer Oladosu Ariyo’s family, including his wife and three other children, were also liberated after being kidnapped in the Dutse area of the capital.

SP Josephine Adeh, the FCT police spokesperson, who confirmed the news, commended the efforts of the security operatives involved in the successful rescue mission.

Expressing gratitude to Inspector-General of Police IGP Olukayode Egbetokun for deploying the newly commissioned Special Intervention Squad, which bolstered the security architecture of the FCT, Commissioner of Police for FCT Command, CP Haruna Garba, emphasized the command’s commitment to sustaining robust security deployment in the region.

He further urged the residents of FCT to promptly report suspicious activities using emergency contact lines, including 08032003913, 08061581938, 07057337653, and 08028940883, along with PCB: 09022222352.
