A former senator and diplomat, Abdallah Wali has tendered his resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after more than two decades of association with the party.

In a letter dated December 31, 2025, and addressed to the PDP ward chairman of Sanyinna ward in Tambuwal LGA of Sokoto state, Wali said his resignation takes immediate effect.

“I am resigning from my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, including all organs of the PDP in which I am a member. This resignation takes immediate effect,” the letter reads.

The politician thanked the PDP for the opportunities to serve the party and the country in different capacities.

He also expressed gratitude to his supporters for standing by him for “well over a quarter of a century”, describing their support as invaluable.

Copies of the resignation letter were forwarded to the PDP chairman in Tambuwal LGA and the party’s state chairman in Sokoto.

As of the time of filing this report, Wali had not disclosed his next political move.

Recall on December 26, Gilbert Nnaji, ex-senator and former chairman of the senate committee on communications, resigned his membership of the PDP after 27 years.

In a letter addressed to the chairman of the PDP in Umuenwene ward, Iji Nike, Enugu east LGA, Nnaji said the decision was difficult given the “national development prospects and opportunities that the PDP of our dreams held for our dear country, Nigeria”.
