Senator LA Convenes Emergency Meeting to Address Education, Girl Child Targeted Terrorism

In response to the alarming rise in education – and – girl child targeted terrorism, stakeholders have convened an emergency meeting to tackle the pressing security challenges in Kaduna State. Senator Lawal Adamu Usman, representing Kaduna Central, disclosed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed him to spearhead this initiative, emphasizing the urgency of the situation.

The meeting, set to address critical areas of insecurity, particularly the frequent bandit operations in the state, aims to devise effective strategies to combat this menace. With the recent abduction of hundreds of students in Chukun local government area and other places in the state, President Tinubu has expressed grave concern and urged decisive action to restore security and foster harmonious coexistence.

Truth Live News gathered that key stakeholders including security agencies, community leaders, Traditional Institutions, Government officials, Civil Society Organizations, and others will participate in the discussions. The agenda will focus on leveraging modern methods for cracking criminals, enhancing intelligence gathering, and implementing community policing initiatives.

Senator Usman who doubles as the Chairman Senate Committee on Education reiterated the Federal government’s stance of refusing to pay any ransom to kidnappers, emphasizing the need for concerted efforts to ensure the safe rescue of the abducted students. He urged communities to actively engage in intelligence gathering and to promptly report any suspicious activities to security agencies to preempt potential attacks.

Furthermore, amidst the current hardships facing the nation, Senator Usman called for patience and unity, highlighting the importance of collective action to overcome challenges. He emphasized the need for prayer, particularly during Ramadan, underscoring the significance of spiritual support in navigating difficult times.

This collaborative effort signifies a unified commitment to safeguarding the education and well-being of children, especially girls, who are disproportionately affected by targeted acts of terrorism. As stakeholders converge to devise solutions, their collective resolve reflects a shared determination to mitigate the threats posed to education and the girl child in Kaduna State.
