Southampton manager Russell Martin has expressed satisfaction with Joe Aribo’s performance in their 5-1 defeat to Chelsea on Wednesday.
Recall that Aribo scored the equalizing goal for Southampton to cancel out Axel Disasi’s opener for Chelsea.
Although Chelsea went on to score four more goals, Martin highlighted Aribo’s performance as one of the positives for his team.
The 28-year-old midfielder has now scored two league goals this season.
Martin praised several players who made their debut or returned to the team, including Nathan Wood and James Bree.
He commended their outstanding performances, stating, “I’m proud of them for that.”
