Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Viktor Gyokeres could feature in the team’s next pre-season friendly against Tottenham Hotspur in Hong Kong.
Truth Live News reports that the Gunners will face their North London rivals on Thursday, and Gyokeres is expected to be assessed on Monday to determine his fitness level.
Recall that Gyokeres was officially announced as a new Arsenal player on Saturday and has yet to train with the team, having flown to Singapore to watch his new teammates beat Newcastle United 3-2.
“We will assess him [on Monday], he’s done all the medicals, everything is looking good,” Arteta said.
Arteta placed emphasis on the importance of getting Gyokeres up to speed with the right levels of fitness, stating that the medical team will assess him to determine when he’s ready to play.
