Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has said that Lamine Yamal is no longer a child and will continue to improve with each passing year.
“Lamine, like other teammates, are already Barça players, but on the other hand, they are still children,” Lewandowski said, adding that Yamal’s age will soon become an advantage as opponents will have to adjust to playing against him as an adult.
Lewandowski has high praise for Yamal’s talent and potential, calling him the “best winger in the world” and expressing confidence in the young player’s ability to achieve greater feats in his Barça career.
Yamal’s impressive performance last season, with 18 goals and 25 assists in 55 games for Barça, has earned him a spot among the favorites for the 2025 Ballon d’Or award.
Lewandowski, however, advised Yamal to stay focused and avoid getting caught up in the hype surrounding his rapid rise to stardom, amplifying the importance of having a strong support system and a long-term perspective.
“It’s not about how you start, it’s about how you finish,” Lewandowski said, stressing that Yamal’s career trajectory will depend on his ability to maintain a high level of performance over the next 10-15 years.
