Nigeria’s Sports Development Minister, Sen John Owan Enoh, said that “there is no vacancy in Peregrino House” comes 2027 guber election.
Furthermore, he said the Governor of Cross River State Sen Bassey Edet Otu, had demonstrated uncommon leadership in his first term and deserved to be supported.
Moreover, Deputy Governor Right Hon. Peter Odey represented Governor Otu at the thanksgiving mass organized in honour of Sen Enoh on Saturday in Ikom LGA, Central Senatorial District, South South Nigeria.
At the Holy Family Catholic Church, where hundreds of guests and dignitaries converged, the Minister of Sports Development dismissed as untrue the rumours that he will recontest Governorship position in 2027.
Enoh said his political journey had been remarkable and thanked God for his mercy.
The officiating bishop and Bishop of Ogoja Diocese, Bishop Donatus Edet Akpan, admonished the minister to remember the people he had been chosen to lead.
“They are God’s children and you must strive to lead them well,” he instructed.
“You have been consistent in politics,” as a result Bishop Akpan said when he lost elections in the past, he accepted his fate.
The Bishop explained that Thanksgiving was a recognition of the fact that all authority comes from God.
He praised the decision of the minister to come home for Thanksgiving to God as against using the resources for personal projects.
