President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to embark on a three state official visit, beginning from Abuja this weekend, as part of his end of year engagements, Truth Live News reports.

According to a statement issued by presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, the President’s itinerary will take him to Borno State, Bauchi State, and Lagos State.

The first leg of the visit will see President Tinubu in Borno State, where he is expected to commission a number of development projects executed by the state government in partnership with the Federal Government. Governor Babagana Zulum’s administration has in recent years prioritised infrastructure and post conflict recovery efforts in the North East.

While in Maiduguri, the President will also attend a high profile private event, the wedding ceremony of Sadeeq Sheriff, son of former Borno State governor and senator, Ali Modu Sheriff.

From Borno, President Tinubu will proceed to Bauchi State on a condolence visit following the death of prominent Islamic scholar and Tijjaniyya leader, Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi, who passed away late last month. The visit, according to the presidency, is in recognition of the late cleric’s spiritual influence and contributions to Islamic scholarship in Nigeria.

The President will thereafter travel to Lagos State, where he is expected to spend the end of year holiday period. Lagos, his political base, will also host a number of official and cultural engagements during his stay.

Among the highlights of the Lagos visit is the historic Eyo Festival scheduled for December 27 at Tafawa Balewa Square. The festival will honour notable personalities, including the President’s late mother, Alhaja Abibatu Mogaji, as well as former Lagos State governor Lateef Jakande and business icon Michael Otedola.

Presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga noted that the visit underscores the President’s continued engagement with both governance responsibilities and Nigeria’s cultural heritage as the year draws to a close.

Truth Live News will continue to monitor and report developments from the President’s multi state tour.
