Tinubu Holds First Security Meeting With Service Chiefs

President, Bola Tinubu, on Thursday met with the Service Chiefs at the State House in Abuja.

The Chief of Defense Staff, General Lucky Irabor led the team of service chiefs for the meeting.

The closed door meeting started at 10:53am with the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Farouk Yahaya; Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Awwal Gambo; the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Isiaka Amao and the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Baba in attendance.

This is the first time Tinubu will be holding official engagement with the security stalwarts after assuming duty.

As of the time of filing in this report, the purpose of the meeting is yet to be made public.

However, it is not far from feature briefings from each security chief to keep the President abreast with the state of the nation’s security.

Recall that, the president had in his inaugural address on Monday, pledged that security would be top priority for his administration.

His words: “Security shall be the top priority of our administration because neither prosperity nor justice can prevail amidst insecurity and violence.

“To effectively tackle this menace, we shall reform both our security DOCTRINE and its ARCHITECTURE”

“We shall invest more in our security personnel, and this means more than an increase in number. We shall provide, better training, equipment, pay and firepower,” he added.
