The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has come to the defense of a female corps member who criticized President Bola Tinubu’s administration in a viral video.

The corps member, Ushie Uguamaye, claimed that officials of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) threatened her for speaking out.

TUC President Festus Osifo urged the government to be tolerant of critics and not personalize the corps member’s frustration.

“They have to develop this resilience to understand that people are frustrated, people are hungry, people are tired,” Osifo said on Channels Television’s Sunday Politics.

Amnesty International has also condemned the alleged threats and intimidation faced by the corps member, stating that “holding and voicing dissenting views is not a crime.”

The NYSC has yet to release an official statement on the matter.
