The Trade Union Congress (TUC) has urged the federal government to hasten work on the Port Harcourt refinery to tackle fuel scarcity in the country.
The TUC president, Mr. Festus Osifo, made the appeal during a news conference at the end of its National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in Abuja.
He said the inability of the federal government to have marched words with actions is resulting to the resurfacing of fuel queue in our filling stations.
“We urge government to do everything possible to make it operational”, Osifo
Truth Live News Media reports that the federal government has earlier proposed the month of April for the refinery to be fully operational.
Osifo also expressed concerned over the unilateral decision by the federal government to increase electricity tariff without consultation with stakeholders.
He, therefore, called on the government to rescind implementation in the interest of the suffering masses.
