The recent Supreme Court judgement which recognized the Governor Obaseki’s led faction of the Edo state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has led to the withdrawal of Hon Pascal Ugbomhe from the Edo North senatorial race.

Hon Pascal Ugbomhe, a former Etsako Central Local Government chairman and a former member of Edo State House of Assembly, belongs to the Dan Orbih’s faction of the party.

The country’s apex Court, Supreme Court recently struck out the appeal filed by the Orbih’s faction of the party which invariably made the governor Obaseki’s led faction, the PDP’s candidates for the 2023 elections.

Hon Ugbomhe withdrawal notice was contained in a thank you message he personally signed and addressed to his Alma mater, Our lady of Fatima Auchi, where he expressed appreciation to them for their support.

Hon Ogbomhe is the worldwide president of Our Lady of Fatima Old Boys Association.

The statement reads in part:
“Great Olofobaites I regret to inform you that I lost my appeal at the Supreme Court today.

“Consequently my Senatorial aspiration has come to an end.

“I give God praise for the opportunity to have come this far.

“I thank you all for the
IMMENSE SUPPORT that you gave me”, Ogbomhe said.
