13 Females, Infant Die In Boat Mishap In Kebbi

Tragedy has struck in Kebbi State as 14 persons out 100 that accompanied a bride to her husband’s house at Gwarzo village, Ngaski Local Government Area of the state, died in boat mishap at Gumbi village, Gumbi ward, Yauri Local Government Area.

Governor Nasir Idris, while sympathizing with the victim’s families, the Yauri emirate, he appealed to them to accept the will of God in good faith.

The governor, who was represented by the Chairman of Yauri LG, Abubakar Shuaibu at the funeral for the deceased, prayed to God Almighty to forgive their shortcomings and grant them Jannatul Firdaus.

“I appeal to you to accept this in good faith bearing in mind that nothing happens without the knowledge of our creator. God does what he wants at the time he wants and nobody has the right to question him,” he said.

Speaking on what happened, the chairman said the accident occured at Gumbi village ,Gumbi ward, Yauri LG, after they accompanied a bride to her husband’s house at Gwarzo village, Ngaski LG.

“The celebrants were on their way back home, when the boat capsized and over 100 people were drowned, 14 people consisting of 13 females and a child died.

“All the deceased persons have been buried according to Islamic rites. We pray to Allah to forgive them and accept their Shahad,” he prayed.
