Prof. Charles Salami, husband of the Vice Chancellor, University of Benin, Prof. Lilian Salami, has passed on.
A University source who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said he passed on Sunday October 29, 2023 but the source didn’t state the cause of his death.
“Yes. He (Salami) is dead. He had all his Children with him. He died on Sunday October 29, 2023”, the University source said.
A family member, Sylvanus Salami who also confirmed his death on a social media post wrote: “I’ve kept the tears in for so long that i don’t really remember how to cry anymore. Rest on Prof Charles J. Salami”.
In October last year, late Salami and his wife, attended their son’s wedding ceremony, Amen and his heartthrob, Oyenkachukwu.
The marriage was consummated at the Salvation Baptist Church in Edjeba, Warri, Delta State.
However, the distraught family is yet to release a statement to that effect.
