Tensions have flared in Benin City following allegations against individuals reportedly linked to Edo State’s Deputy Governor-elect, Dennis Idahosa, accused of raiding and assaulting innocent citizens at Ogbe Quarters.

In a viral video circulating on social media and verified by Truth Live News, eyewitnesses claimed that these individuals were seen entering the area on motorcycles, armed and aggressive.

The video, which has sparked public concern, shows distressed residents recounting the chaotic scene, describing how men allegedly fired shots into the air and threatened anyone in sight.

“They just came, out of nowhere, shooting and causing panic,” one resident said in the footage. “They didn’t ask questions or give any warning.”

Multiple witnesses recounted that the attackers went from house to house, demanding allegiance to their faction and instilling fear in the neighborhood. Residents report that the incident has left many shaken, with calls growing for local authorities and security agencies to take swift action. “It’s unacceptable that we are living in fear because of political associates,” said another resident.
