Armed men who are thought to be kidnappers attacked church in the Akenawe-Tswarev community, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State.
As kidnappers enter the Benue church, a worshipper was shot dead, along with the minister and other people.
The resident pastor and three other worshippers were also taken hostage. During a vigil on Sunday morning, the attackers are believed to have carried out the assault, according to Truthlives. Gwadue Kwaghtyo, the resident pastor, was allegedly leading prayer when the assailants entered the church and started shooting at the faithful. Mrs. Salome Tor, the chairman of Logo LGA, confirmed the heinous event to journalists on Sunday.
According to him, “It was early this morning (still night hours). A church in one of the branches went for a vigil. As they were praying, they were surrounded by the armed men.
“They kidnapped three people, killed one boy and injured two people with a machete; they are now in the hospital”.
