IA violent protest erupted in Ifon, Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State, as a group of enraged youths set fire to the divisional police headquarters following the alleged torture and death of a young man in police custody.
The unrest, which began on Saturday evening, spiraled out of control as furious residents and friends of the deceased stormed the station, overpowered officers on duty, and torched the building.

Truth Live News gathered that the crisis was triggered by an incident that reportedly occurred on Valentine’s Day. When news of the young man’s death broke, tensions flared, culminating in the violent retaliation against the police.
Speaking on the development, the Ondo State Police Public Relations Officer, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the attack and stated that additional police reinforcements had been deployed to Ifon to restore order.
She further revealed that the state’s Commissioner of Police, Wilfred Afolabi, was en route to the troubled town to prevent further escalation.
