Hundreds of political youths in Irepodun local government of Kwara State have announced their intention to dump the All Progressives Congress, APC and join the People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
The youths, while meeting with Comrade Bisi Fakayode, Engr Bankole Dare, House of Assembly candidate and top party stalwart, yesterday at Arandun, gave their attestation to be a loyal member of the party and hoped their union with PDP will bring more greatness to the town and the state at large.
The youths said that they had been cheated for so many years of enduring and believing in APC.
The youths in their numbers described Alhaji Olorire Hamed, a prominent PDP member from the ward as a role model and applauded him for the tremendous things he has done for the youths in his ward without expecting compensation.
They said:
“Hamed Olorire is trustworthy, we won’t deviate from him. We joined this party because of him, he doesn’t hold any post yet but he is spending from his pocket to ensure the people of Aradun town are living fine. For this reason, he deserves to be compensated with a high post.”
In his comment, Fakayode said that the APC has frustrated the youth out of the party, adding that the town has been abandoned, while most of the projects in the town were funded by the PDP party despite the APC being the ruling party.
“APC has brought nothing to this town except difficultly, no Arandun indigene was given appointment since their inception in power, they have excluded us from other towns, even this road was tarred by PDP”, he said.
