Governor Dauda Lawal has assured the World Bank that his administration is making significant progress in combating banditry in Zamfara State.
During his official visit to the World Bank office in Abuja, the governor discussed key development initiatives in education, health, climate resilience, and agriculture.
Lawal emphasized that his administration has taken proactive steps to restore stability, resulting in improved security and a safer environment for the people.
He reassured the World Bank team of their safety during project monitoring and supervision visits, citing secure accommodations, transportation, and communication protocols.
The governor extended an invitation to the World Bank Country Director to visit Zamfara and witness the progress of World Bank-supported initiatives.
Dr. Ndiamé Diop, the World Bank Country Director for Nigeria, praised Governor Lawal’s leadership and the state’s progress, noting that the systems put in place have achieved remarkable results in a short time.
The Task Team Leader of the NG-CARES project commended Zamfara’s implementation model, which is now being adopted by other states in Nigeria and replicated internationally.
The meeting strengthened Zamfara’s partnership with the World Bank and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to sustainable development and security improvement.
