Another Prominent Edo PDP Chieftain Dumps Party, Reveals Reasons

Barely two weeks after former Edo South Senator, Pharm Matthew Urhoghide announced his resignation from the main opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, another chieftain of the party from Edo Central, Engr. Gideon Ikhine has also dumped the party.

In a letter dated July 8, 2023, and obtained by Truth Live News, Engr. Gideon Ikhine disclosed the reasons behind his decision to leave the party.

His words:

“I wish to resign my membership of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) effective today July 8, 2023.

“It has been a great honor to contribute to the growth and success of this party over the years, with People Democratic Party recording outstanding results from my Ward all through the 24 years of working with you.

“My commitment to the people of Ward 7, Esan-West Local Government and Edo people remains firm and resolute to keep serving them in other capacity.

“I would like to personally thank you for the privileges, opportunities, and leadership | enjoyed over the 24 years of my stewardship with you. I trust you will convey my deep gratitude to the party leadership of Ward 7, Esan-West LGA, Senatorial, State and National levels.

“I wish you well in your service to our State and Nation.”
