Fatima Abubakar, a 37-year-old childless woman, was arrested by the Adamawa State Police Command for allegedly torturing two toddlers in her care.
The reason for the abuse? The children urinated and defecated inside the house. Unfortunately, this isn’t an isolated incident.
Neighbors reported that Fatima had a history of maltreating the children, denying them food, and warning others not to interfere in her affairs.
Similar cases have been reported in the past. For instance, a childless woman, Grace Monday, was arrested in Lagos for torturing her three-year-old niece to a coma for defecating in the house instead of using her potty .
In Fatima’s case, the police took her into custody after it was revealed that she physically assaulted a two-year-old girl and a young boy. She confessed to the crimes after her arrest on Saturday, and the Commissioner of Police has ordered that she be charged to court .
