The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in Kano State has arrested 75-year-old Nuhu Baba during a targeted anti-drug operation in Tumbau Village, Gezawa Local Government Area. This was disclosed by the command’s spokesman, Sadiq Maigatari

According to Punch reports, Truth Live News learnt that during the operation, various illicit drugs were seized, including Tramadol, Cannabis Sativa, Diazepam, Exol-5, and Rubber Solution.

“Upon investigation, Nuhu Baba confessed to the authorities that he had been engaged in this illicit trade for the past two years as a means of sustaining his livelihood,” the statement by Maigatari read.

The arrest underscores the pervasive nature of drug trafficking, which now involves individuals from all age demographics, including the elderly. Maigatari highlighted the NDLEA’s unwavering commitment to eradicating drug-related crimes and called for greater community involvement in this battle against substance abuse.

State Commander Abubakar Idris-Ahmad also emphasized the agency’s resolve to combat drug trafficking within the state, underscoring the importance of public cooperation. “The NDLEA Kano Command continues to urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities related to drug trafficking,” Ahmad stated.
