Ayu Absconds As EFCC Attends PDP’s Presidential Council Inauguration
There was tension today at the venue of the Peoples Democratic Party Presidential Campaign Council PDP-PCC on Wednesday as reports have it that plainclothes security agents suspected to be EFCC operatives were spotted around to effect the arrest of the party’s embattled national chairman, Iyorchia Ayu.
Truthlive.net correspondents who were present at the International Conference Centre, Abuja, where the inauguration was held, reported that Dr. Iyorchia Ayu who was conspicuously absent from the ceremony which saw some party members and leaders staying away had some secrete agents from the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC were snooping around the venue as intelligent reports had it that Ayu was going to appear at the venue.
There have been a series of corruption allegations levied against the embattled national chairman of the PDP Sen Iyorchia Ayu which sources say had necessitated him fleeing the country to an unknown destination.
Funds raised through the sales of nomination forms where the party realized over N10bn were said to have been misused by the chairman without proper accounts given, as well as the N1bn he allegedly collected from a presidential aspirant in Lagos which was not reflected in the party’s bank account.
