Iran Fires Missiles at US Naval Base in Bahrain, Strikes Empty Quarters

Iran reportedly launched a missile attack on the United States Navy’s Fifth Fleet headquarters in Bahrain on Saturday, the United Arab Emirates’ defence ministry said.

The ministry confirmed that several missiles were intercepted but did not provide details on any damage caused.

According to Ahmed Alkhuzaie, a Bahrain-based political analyst, the attack struck an empty section of the base, meaning no US personnel were harmed. The information was reported by The Jerusalem Post.

The strike comes amid a sharp escalation of military activity in the Middle East following coordinated US and Israeli attacks on key Iranian targets. Observers warn that the region could face further instability as tensions rise.

In a video statement from the White House, US President Donald Trump said American forces had launched “major combat operations” against Iran. He said the aim was to protect the American people by neutralising what he described as “imminent threats” from the Iranian regime.

Trump also vowed to dismantle Iran’s nuclear and military capabilities, framing the moment as an opportunity for the Iranian people to reclaim control of their country.

“When we are finished, take over your government. It will be yours to take. This will probably be your only chance for generations… Now is the time to seize control of your destiny,” he said.

The missile attack on Bahrain is among the first retaliatory actions by Iran since the US and Israeli strikes, signalling a potentially dangerous escalation in an already volatile region.
