German giants Bayern Munich are reportedly mapping out their long term attacking blueprint, with Victor Osimhen positioned high on the shortlist should a transition be required in the centre forward role currently occupied by Harry Kane, Truth Live News International reports.
Kane remains a cornerstone of Bayern’s project and discussions over a contract extension are ongoing. The England captain has produced extraordinary numbers since arriving in Munich, scoring 130 goals in 133 appearances across competitions. However, with the striker now in his early thirties and attracting attention from other elite sides, Bayern’s leadership are said to be planning beyond the immediate term.
Osimhen’s name has resurfaced prominently following his resurgence at Galatasaray. The Nigerian forward rediscovered peak form in Turkey, netting 37 goals in 41 matches during his debut campaign and continuing his productivity in his second season. His impact has extended beyond domestic football, with influential displays in the UEFA Champions League reinforcing his elite credentials.
French outlet Foot Mercato claims Bayern’s interest is more than speculative. “Vincent Kompany has a strong appreciation for Victor Osimhen’s profile and sees him as a striker capable of leading Bayern’s next attacking cycle,” the report stated. It further noted, “The club’s management is evaluating all possible scenarios regarding Harry Kane’s long term future and does not want to be caught unprepared.”
Head coach Vincent Kompany is believed to favour Osimhen’s aggressive pressing, explosive acceleration, and ability to stretch defensive structures. Internally, those attributes are viewed as compatible with Bayern’s high intensity tactical model.
Any potential move would, however, involve significant financial negotiations. Galatasaray secured Osimhen on a long term contract until 2029 and are understood to value him at approximately €150 million. Wage demands and structural considerations would also play a decisive role in any formal approach.
The striker has previously spoken about his admiration for Juventus, once remarking, “If the opportunity ever came to return to Italy, Juventus would be a club I would seriously consider.” He quickly balanced that statement by adding, “Right now, I am fully focused and committed to my current team.”
For the moment, Bayern’s stance remains strategic monitoring rather than immediate pursuit. Nevertheless, as succession planning intensifies in Munich, Osimhen’s profile continues to feature prominently in long term recruitment deliberations.
