Alhaji Bashir Aliyu Abara Gummi, the Zamfara State Coordinator of the Revenue Mobilisation Allocation and Fiscal Commission (RMAFC), has been kidnapped by bandits while traveling to Abuja for an official meeting.
The abduction occurred on the Funtua-Gusau Road, where the bandits blocked the road, killing two people and kidnapping several others, including Gummi.
According to reports, Gummi’s family had gathered N16 million as ransom, which the kidnappers accepted, but they refused to release him.
The kidnappers are now demanding an additional N44 million and 10 motorcycles.
Truth Live News gathered that the family has urged the state government to take immediate action to secure Gummi’s release, as the kidnappers have set a deadline that has already passed.
