Israel Set to Receive Bomb Bodies in New US Arms Deal

The United States government has authorised a fresh weapons package valued at $151.8 million for Israel, approving the transfer of thousands of bomb bodies as tensions continue to rise in the Middle East.

According to officials, the approval covers the supply of 12,000 1,000-pound (470-kilogram) bomb bodies requested by Israel. The decision was cleared by the United States Department of State through its Bureau of Political-Military Affairs.

The development comes as Israel and Iran remain engaged in an escalating regional conflict that has heightened security concerns across the Middle East.

In a statement announcing the approval, the bureau said the arms deal was intended to strengthen Israel’s ability to defend itself against existing and emerging threats.

“The proposed sale will improve Israel’s capability to meet current and future threats, strengthen its homeland defense, and serve as a deterrent to regional threats,” the bureau stated.

The United States has long maintained close defence cooperation with Israel, frequently providing military equipment and strategic support aimed at preserving the country’s security advantage in the region.

Friday’s approval adds to a series of defence arrangements between the two allies as geopolitical tensions involving Iran continue to intensify.

The announcement was reported by Agence France-Presse.
