Three suspects connected to the
kidnapping of a medical doctor, Dr. Abu Babatunde, and killing his younger brother in Auchi, Edo State, were arraigned before a High Court in Auchi on Monday.
Truth Live News Media reports that the suspects were apprehended in February 2026 after visiting the doctor’s hospital for medical treatment for their child and were escorted to court under tight security.
The case was adjourned to March 23, 2026, for further proceedings, marking a significant step in the legal process.
Authorities continue investigations as the court process unfolds .
Recall that Babatunde and his younger brother were abducted from their residence in Auchi on January 2, 2026. The younger brother was later found dead. Dr. Babatunde was released after a ransom of N50 million was reportedly paid.
