CROSS RIVER, CALABAR – The Cross River State Government has announced fresh appointments into the Local Government Service Commission as part of ongoing administrative reforms.
The announcement, contained in a press release issued by the Office of the Secretary to the State Government, takes immediate effect.
According to the statement, Governor Bassey Edet Otu approved the appointments to enhance efficiency and strengthen governance structures at the grassroots level.

Other members include Bassey Etim Ekpenyong, Emmanuel Ibor, and Godwin Odey, who were named as commissioners in the commission.
Also appointed are Hon. Chief Lawrence Bassey, Hon. Rita Ayim, and Hon. John Olomu, who will serve in various commissioner capacities.

Cross River Opens Applications for Air Force Military Schools
In a related development, the Cross River State Government announced the commencement of applications for the 2026/2027 Air Force Military School entrance examination.
The announcement targets eligible indigenes seeking admission into Junior Secondary School One in Air Force educational institutions across Nigeria.
According to the statement, applications cover the Air Force Military School, Air Force Girls Military School Jos, and Air Force Comprehensive Secondary Schools.
The government urged interested candidates and parents to take advantage of the opportunity to access quality military-based education.
“This is to inform the public and particularly indigenes of Cross River State that online applications are now open,” the statement read.
Officials advised prospective candidates to complete their applications through the designated Nigerian Air Force Examination Centre portal.
Application Deadlines and Guidelines Released
The state government provided specific deadlines for the submission of applications across different Air Force school categories.
According to the release, registration for Air Force Military School and Air Force Girls Military School will close on April 4, 2026.
Meanwhile, applications for Air Force Comprehensive Secondary Schools will remain open until April 25, 2026.
Prospective applicants were directed to visit the official Nigerian Air Force Examination Centre website for detailed guidelines.
“They are advised to visit the Nigerian Air Force Examination Centre website or the Office of the Secretary to the Government,” the statement noted.
