The crescent moon has been sighted in Saudi Arabia, marking the beginning of Ramadan, the holiest month in the Islamic calendar. In accordance with the sighting, Ramadan will officially begin on Monday, with Muslims across the globe observing a month of fasting, prayer, and reflection.
“The sighting of the crescent moon is a joyous occasion for Muslims around the world, as it signifies the beginning of a month of spiritual and religious renewal,” said Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh, the Grand Mufti of Saudi Arabia.
