Brigadier-General Lawal Bature Mohammed (retd), a former commander of the Zamfara Community Protection Guards (CPG), has died after battling injuries sustained during a bandits’ ambush.
Truth Live News International learnt from legit.ng that the late officer, widely known as Dan Gusau, was attacked last year and suffered gunshot wounds during the incident. Following the attack, he was flown abroad for medical treatment in Egypt as efforts were made to stabilise his condition.
Despite surviving the initial assault and receiving medical care, he has now passed away, bringing a tragic end to a prolonged recovery process.
His death marks a significant loss, particularly in Zamfara State, where he played a key role in local security efforts through the Community Protection Guards initiative.
