Emirates Airlines has announced its much-awaited return to Nigeria, with operations set to commence from October 1, 2024. The official confirmation came through the airline’s announcement on its official social media handle, ensuring travelers a seamless connection between Lagos and Dubai, as well as access to over 140 destinations worldwide.

Truth Live News gathered that this much awaited development follows a meeting between Nigeria’s Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, SAN, and the UAE Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi. Keyamo revealed that during the meeting, he received correspondence from Emirates Airlines confirming the resumption date, further solidifying the anticipation of this significant aviation milestone.

Emirates Airlines will offer daily flights between Lagos and Dubai, providing travelers with increased options and connectivity through Dubai International Airport. This move is expected to boost tourism, trade, and business relations between Nigeria and the United Arab Emirates, signaling positive strides in the recovery of the aviation industry post-pandemic.

The Minister wrote: “Yesterday (On Tuesday), I paid a working visit to the Ambassador of the UAE to Nigeria, His Excellency, Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi at the UAE Embassy in Abuja,” Keyamo stated. “He handed me a correspondence from the Emirates Airline indicating a definite date of their resumption of flights to Nigeria. That date will be formally announced by Emirates Airlines in a matter of days.”
