In the part one of this article, I offered the obvious contrasts between the competent Dr Asue Ighodalo and the sad joke, Senator Monday Okpebholo. In this part two, I shall continue to dredge the pitiable characteristics of the candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the September election.
Okpebholo is a privilege individual who’s past is obscured. The only part which people can remember was when he served as a boy to Late Chief Tony Anenih.
Okpebholo is that unforgivable thing to the people of Esanland he now represents in the Senate. He is a bully and relishes the position whenever he is among bullies like Senator Oshiomole and Comrade Philip Shaibu where he transforms into a side-kicking small man in their presence. It is unfortunate that a minority of voters in Edo State listens to what he says and what he does. Well listen for the purpose of comic relief. He breaks all known rules of decency. He punches downwards, not upwards – he is never measured in the things he says and do, he just says them in a way that makes decorum shrivel. He sounds unintelligent, opaque, dunce-like, dense, uninspiring, selfish and simple-minded. It shocks the mind to think he is a senator, not a foreman in a local loading store, and it is more shocking to think he is aspiring to become a governor in a sophisticated state like Edo, which he can never be.
You dont need keen eyes for details to spot his obvious flaws if you have been following him in these campaigns. One is basically distressed to think that of all the persons that vied for the primaries, APC was able to select the worst of its aspirants. Did they choose him because he is the most vulnerable and will be a tool to aid the godfathers to our commonwealth? You cannot read from him or hear him speak without turning your head in pity and dismay. He is that shallow being that inspires nothing. He thinks he ‘creates boreholes’ in the 21st century. He looks for ‘animals’ in museums in Edo State. His talks are below dunce-like in all ramifications – he hardly can read from a prepared note even. These are parts of what surprise the good and intelligent people of Edo State going into the election. How can Monday who runs from every intellectual and conversational engagement be on the ballot? He is a Picasso of pettiness, a Shakespeare of shit and his faults are fractured. Even his flaws are flawless. He knows and runs from all kinds of debates and every decent Edo State citizen is talking about it. If Frankeinstein decided to assemble a monster from human flaws, he will make a Monday. And Frankeinstein will scream afterwards, my God, what have I created!
Edo State cannot afford to vote for such a contradiction when they can easily satisfy their consciences by voting for the competent Dr Asue Ighodalo.
