Chelsea and England player, Reece James, who only recently returned from a season-long injury that kept him sidelined for almost throughout last season and early this season, has suffered a fresh setback. James has picked up a hamstring injury, adding to his frustrating spell on the sidelines.
After making a promising comeback just a few weeks ago, James’s latest injury will come as a significant blow to Chelsea’s defensive lineup.
According to Chelsea Manager, Enzo Maresca, the English right-back’s latest injury is a hamstring issue, which they cannot risk aggravating further for the weekend match against Leicester City.
As shared by Fabrizio Romano via his Facebook Page, Maresca said, “It’s a hamstring issue, muscle problem. It’s a small one, but we don’t want to take any risks for the weekend.”
This new development will likely keep James out of contention for an extended period, dealing a significant blow to Chelsea’s defensive lineup.
