Gov. Okpebholo Urges Edo Youths to Enlist in Nigerian Army

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo has called on eligible young men and women across the state to take advantage of the ongoing Nigerian Army recruitment exercise, stressing that the state must improve its numbers and meet its national quota.

The appeal was contained in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Dr Patrick Ebojele, on Tuesday 7th of April in Benin City, and was tied to the scheduled visit of a Nigerian Army sensitisation team to Edo State from April 8 to April 14.

The sensitisation team is tasked with guiding applicants through the rigors of the Nigerian Army 91 Regular Recruits Intake and ensuring that prospective soldiers from Edo State are well prepared for the recruitment process.

Okpebholo described the exercise as a pathway to meaningful employment, national service and personal development, urging Edo youths to come forward in large numbers to improve the state’s participation and meet its national quota.

The call was directed at qualified youths across Edo North, Edo Central and Edo South senatorial districts.
The governor’s appeal went beyond the youth themselves. Okpebholo also urged parents, guardians, traditional rulers, community leaders, religious institutions and youth organisations to mobilise and encourage eligible candidates within their communities to take part in the exercise.

He advised interested applicants to visit the official Nigerian Army recruitment portal for full details on eligibility, requirements and application procedures, and to ensure all necessary documents are complete before presenting themselves at designated sensitisation centres.

“The Edo State Government remains committed to creating opportunities for youths and calls for collective support to ensure the success of this exercise,” the governor said.
