Man Jailed For Stealing Rare Fabergé Items Worth £2.2m From London Pub

A man has been sentenced to more than two years in prison after stealing a handbag containing a highly valuable Fabergé egg and luxury watch set from a pub in London.

Truth Live News International learnt from BBC news that Enzo Conticello, 29, carried out the theft on November 7, 2024, outside the Dog and Duck pub in Soho. The bag belonged to Rosie Dawson, who had placed it between her legs while standing at the venue.

Inside the handbag were rare Fabergé pieces valued at up to £2.2 million, alongside personal belongings including a laptop and bank cards. The items had been taken to a work event earlier that evening but have not been recovered since the incident.

Conticello, also known as Hakin Boudjenoune, admitted to theft and fraud-related offences. He was sentenced at Southwark Crown Court to two years and three months’ imprisonment.

The court was told the defendant acted on impulse in search of quick money and later attempted to use the stolen bank cards shortly after taking the bag, which helped investigators identify him.

Prosecutors said the stolen valuables were linked to the Craft Irish Whiskey Company, with only a handful of such Fabergé sets known to exist globally. The collection includes a gold egg adorned with diamonds and an emerald, along with a specially designed watch.

The defence argued that Conticello had fallen into drug use after losing his job during the pandemic and was unaware of the true value of the items.

In sentencing, the court noted the emotional and professional impact of the theft on the victim and her employer.

Police said investigations are ongoing to recover the missing Fabergé items and urged anyone with relevant information to come forward.
