Venita Akpofure, a former Big Brother Naija housemate, has threatened legal action against a social media user who accused her of promiscuity, describing the allegation as defamatory.
The dispute began on X (formerly Twitter), where the user alleged that Akpofure was “moving from one man to another” and criticised her personal life in a series of posts.
Responding, Akpofure dismissed the claims and urged the user to focus on personal matters rather than making unverified accusations online.
She further demanded that the critic provide evidence to substantiate the allegations, warning that failure to do so could result in legal consequences.
Akpofure stated that if the user could not identify and prove the claims being made, she should be prepared to face potential charges related to defamation and slander.
Following the exchange, the social media user reportedly restricted access to their account.
Akpofure rose to prominence after participating in the 2019 edition of Big Brother Naija and has since built a career in acting and entertainment.
