
Wolverhampton Wanderers moved closer to relegation from the Premier League following a heavy 3-0 defeat to Leeds United at Elland Road.
The loss , Wolves’ 22nd of the season — leaves them bottom of the table with 17 points from 33 matches, putting their eight-year stay in the top flight in serious jeopardy. Their survival now depends on results elsewhere, including fixtures involving Tottenham Hotspur and Brighton & Hove Albion.
Leeds United took control early, with James Justin opening the scoring in the 18th minute with an overhead kick. Noah Okafor doubled the lead shortly after, before Dominic Calvert-Lewin sealed the win from the penalty spot in stoppage time.
Elsewhere, AFC Bournemouth strengthened their bid for European qualification with a 2-1 victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park. Goals from Marcus Tavernier and Adrien Truffert secured the win after William Osula had briefly levelled for the hosts.
The result lifts Bournemouth to eighth place, while Newcastle slip to mid-table.
In another fixture, Brentford FC and Fulham FC played out a goalless draw. Fulham goalkeeper Bernd Leno produced a late save to deny Dango Ouattara, ensuring both sides shared the points.
Brentford remain seventh, level on points with Chelsea FC, while Fulham sit 12th with their European hopes fading.
