Cryptocurrency entrepreneur Linus Williams Ifejirika, popularly known as Blord, has finally been released from Kuje Prison in Abuja after a brief delay in perfecting his bail conditions earlier today being 20th of April, 2026.
Blord, who had spent over two weeks in detention, was granted bail on Friday, April 17, 2026, by Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia of the Federal High Court, Abuja.
He was charged with alleged impersonation linked to his public feud with social media critic Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM). Blord pleaded not guilty to the charges.
The court admitted him to bail on self-recognizance with additional conditions, including the deposit of his international passport and two sureties in the sum of N20 million each.
However, his release was postponed because his passport could not arrive on time from Anambra State.
Social media critic VeryDarkMan addressed the development in a video, stating, “I’m very happy that BLord was granted bail but unfortunately for him, he had to be taken back to the Kuje correctional center until Monday because he could not perfect his bail condition. As you all know, one of the conditions that the judge gave was that Blord was going to tender his international passport, after all the efforts by my lawyer, his passport could not come from Anambra State on time so he had to be taken back to Kuje prison.”
Reports on Monday, April 20, confirmed that Blord successfully met all conditions and walked free from the facility.
Social media users shared images and videos of his release, with many noting his visibly subdued and humbled appearance after the ordeal.
Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore had earlier announced the bail ruling on his Facebook page, “Bail has been granted to Linus Williams popularly known as Blord on self recognisance. The court, however ordered that he deposit his international passport as part of the bail conditions.”
The case has been adjourned to April 27, 2026, for further hearing. Blord’s detention had drawn significant public attention, with reactions ranging from support for his release to debates over the circumstances leading to his arrest.
