Kogi University Expels Four Students, Suspends One Over Misconduct

Confluence University of Science and Technology in Osara, Kogi State has expelled four students and suspended another following various disciplinary offences.

The university management said the decision was based on findings from its Students’ Disciplinary Committee, which were approved during the institution’s 30th Senate meeting held on April 29, 2026.

According to official statements signed by the Deputy Registrar (Academic Affairs), two female students were expelled over alleged involvement in same-sex conduct, while another student was dismissed for allegedly attacking and stabbing a fellow student.

A fourth student was also expelled for reportedly cloning and distributing private photographs of two female students without their consent, an act the school classified as cyber misconduct.

In a separate case, one student was suspended for one academic session over involvement in a physical altercation.

The university explained that the actions were taken to enforce discipline, maintain moral standards, and ensure a safe academic environment.

Vice-Chancellor, Abdulrahman Salawu, commended the disciplinary committee for carrying out what he described as a thorough investigation. He added that the institution remains committed to producing graduates who demonstrate both academic excellence and strong character.

The management also warned students against engaging in misconduct, stressing that violations of school rules would continue to attract strict penalties.
