ASABA, DELTA – The race for the women’s title in the 2026 President Federation Cup has reached its decisive stage, with four teams securing places in the semi-finals as Asaba, Delta State prepares to host the grand finale of the competition.
The Stephen Keshi Stadium, Asaba, will host the final matches of the men’s and women’s competitions on July 11, 2026, with FC Robo Queens, Heartland Queens, Sunshine Queens and Nasarawa Amazons battling for a place in the women’s final.
The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) Communications Department confirmed the semi-finalists after a dramatic quarter-final stage that produced close encounters and penalty shootout victories.
FC Robo Queens secured their semi-final ticket after defeating Rivers Angels 1-0, while Heartland Queens survived a tough contest against Ibom Angels, winning 4-2 on penalties after the match ended 2-2.
Sunshine Queens also progressed after a narrow 1-0 victory over Confluence Queens, while Nasarawa Amazons advanced following a goalless draw against Edo Queens before winning 5-3 on penalties.
The results set up a final four contest featuring some of the country’s prominent women’s football clubs, as they aim to lift the prestigious trophy.
The NFF stated that the Stephen Keshi Stadium would serve as the stage for the grand finale, bringing together the best teams from both the men’s and women’s competitions.
In the men’s category, Ikorodu City and three-time champions El-Kanemi Warriors have already emerged as finalists after defeating Nasarawa United and Wikki Tourists respectively.
The federation noted that the final event would provide an opportunity to showcase the growth of Nigerian domestic football, especially with both men’s and women’s teams competing for national honours.
With the women’s competition now at the semi-final stage, attention shifts to the remaining four teams as they chase qualification for the Asaba showdown.
The President Federation Cup remains one of Nigeria’s major football competitions, providing clubs across the country a platform to compete for national recognition and silverware.
