The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Adamawa state, has again recorded another setback as the member representing Fufore/Gurin Constituency, resigned his membership from the party.

The member, Shuaibu Babas, who earlier this week revealed his decision to the public, was also observed to have defected to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

His inability to actualize his second term political ambition on the platform of the APC was noticed to have been the reason behind his resignation from the party.

Giving the absence of internal democracy as an example, which he believed made it impossible for him to actualize his re-election, aligning forces with the PDP, he believed was the only vital option left for him.

Tendering his letter of resignation to the leadership of the state House of Assembly, he said he has no regret of dumping the political party that brought him to limelight to the opposition party in the state.

His letter of resignation, as gathered by newsmen, was read to the hearing of the entire members of the House, by the Speaker, Aminu Iya Abbas.

In his letter, Shuaibu said he had to leave APC due to the injustice meted out to him and his supporters during the party’s primary.

His former party, as stated by him in the letter, failed to conduct a free, fair and credible primary election in his constituency during the last primary.

As he was Irritated by the development, the only option left for him and his teeming supporters, was to pitch tent with the ruling PDP in the state.

Elated by the decision of the member, the speaker and other members of the House commended him for taking the bull by the horns by joining the ruling party in the state.

APC has in recent times been witnessing series of impediment in the state following the incessant massive exits of its members to PDP.

Some members of the party who feed newsmen about the information said that they have concluded plans to tread the paths of Shuaibu and added that the plan is facilitated by the party’s failure to provide level playgrounds for all the aspirants who sought for one elective position and the other in the party’s just concluded primaries.
