American retired sprinter and TV commentator, Michael Duane Johnson also known as MJGOLD on Twitter expressed his doubt about the timing after Tobi Amusan victory at Oregon United States.

Tobi Amusan won the world championship at the just concluded world Athletics championship 2022 with 12.06 seconds but according to MJ, the timer might be wrong.

He wrote:

“I don’t believe 100h time are correct ! World record broken by 08! 12 pbs set 5 National record set”

This comment did not go down well with Nigerians as they all set his page on fire with jabs on why should he question the timing now that it involves Nigeria.

Reactions from Nigeria led to MJGold switching off his comment section.

Some reactions:

Adesuwa Etomi wellington: what you said was in bad taste, Tobi won that race and broke the record. Do better.

Frank Donga: las las na you unite Nigeria untop your matter

Omolola Adedeji: na bad belle go kill you.
