Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti has placed enough emphasis on his team’s readiness to overcome formidable opponents in their quest to clinch the Champions League title.
Following the quarter-final draw pairing Real Madrid against Manchester City, Ancelotti expressed confidence in his team’s ability to compete against the best teams in Europe.
In an interview with Marca, the Italian tactician downplayed concerns about facing Manchester City, acknowledging their status as one of the favorites in the competition.
“The Champions League quarterfinals are always complicated! The idea is to win the competition, and to do that, you must beat the best.
“City may be one of the best in Europe at the moment, it will be tough, of course, but if you want to be European champion, you must eliminate City,” he explained.
He furthered: “Optimism prevails, not worry. They are going to be a great quarterfinal, and we will play them with confidence. No-one is favorite.”
