Barrister Alari Felix, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has announced his resignation from the party.

The announcement was made in a letter dated 20 May, 2024 and addressed to the Chairman and leadership of the APC in Ehor Ward 1, Uhunmwonde Local Government Area, Edo State.

Felix, in his resignation letter, titled “Resignation of My Membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC),” expressed deep disappointment with the current state of the APC, particularly criticizing the conduct of party primaries and other internal issues.

He lamented the party’s deviation from its original values and vision, which he had worked hard to uphold over the years and described the Edo State APC as a “highly disorganized political party” operated by individuals he characterized as “myopic and egoistic mediocres” with little regard for intellect, party loyalty, and democratic principles.

The letter reads in part: “I Hon, Barr. Alari Felix, write to inform you of my decision to resign my membership of the All Progressives Congress (A.P.C) effective immediately.

“This decision has been necessitated by the way and manner the affairs of the party has been conducted especially in matter of the party the primaries and other sundry issues. Having been in this party from its inception, and having endeavored over the years to work hard within the party framework to help to build a virile political party, It has however become clear to me that this party has lost focus and has largely deviated from its core values.

“Edo state A.P.C. today is a highly disorganized political party operated by myopic and egoistic mediocre who have little or no regard whatsoever for intellects and party loyalty, and democratic principles.

“Please do accept this letter as formal notice of my resignation.”
