The National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting of the All Progressives Congress (APC) commenced today at 11:00 AM at the party’s National Secretariat, located at 40 Blantyre Street, Wuse 2, Abuja. Security measures have been significantly heightened in and around Blantyre Street and its adjoining areas to ensure the safety of attendees and the smooth conduct of the meeting.

Truth Live News reports that high-profile dignitaries expected at the meeting include President Bola Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas. Early arrivals have been noted, such as Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu; members of the National Working Committee (NWC); the Forum of State Chairmen; former Governor of Zamfara State, Senator Abdulaziz Yari; and the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Abubakar Atiku Bagudu.

Vehicular and pedestrian movements around the venue have been heavily restricted, with only a select number of journalists granted clearance to cover the opening session.

This NEC meeting follows the National Caucus meeting held yesterday, February 25, 2025, at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja. The caucus meeting, chaired by President Tinubu, marked the first since he assumed office and served as a precursor to today’s NEC gathering.

Notably absent from both meetings is former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai. His absence comes amidst recent speculations regarding internal party dynamics, which the APC has officially dismissed.

The NEC meeting is expected to address critical party policies, upcoming elections, and strategies for national governance. Further details will be provided as the meeting progresses.
